This installation is a story of the Anthropocene, the disappearing polar bears and the Arctic ice shelf created during a residency in Svalbard. The bear is a fellow mammal depicted here as domesticated and in the frozen landscape. Our stories of the greatness of giants will be lost alongside the tall tales of wilderness and what we understand as wild.
Teddy Bears are symbols of innocence and were originally created to remember a grizzly bear and a president in the story of the beginning of the first National Parks of America.
Homosapiens are perhaps the 6th extinction and teddy bears are our evidence as long as we remember why.
